Hi! Welcome to Spirit Meadow Dog Care! We are Scott and Melanie Oranchuk, let me tell you a bit about us and just how Spirit Meadow came to be and why we're so excited to be a part of your family and have you be a part of ours!

Mel grew up on a farm in rural Calgary area and developed a life long love of dogs and horses and all animals between! Scott grew up on a rural property outside of Leduc also owning dogs.

I met Scott back in 2011 when I was working as a barn manager for a horse show barn. I quickly picked up that he's as fun loving and likes to be outside just as much as I do. We moved in together and I brought with me Kamali, a miniature dachshund, and Druss, a giant orange cat. In 2017 we bought our first rural property and welcomed our baby Vero, a Great Pyrenees/Maremma fluff ball. We also rescued and spayed/neutered multiple stray cats in the area. In 2019 we opened our home to our rescue Monk, a pomeranian cross. In 2018 we purchased what is now the site of Spirit Meadow Dog Care. In the light of recent tragedies in our lives, we asked ourselves how we could share our land and help our community. How could we use our knowledge and years of experience? And thus, Spirit Meadow Dog Care was born. Between Scott and myself, we have over 30 years of animal experience, including giving medication oral and injected. Our property is situated on 15 acres of farmland east of Leduc. We have 5 acres of square wire fencing that is safe enough to contain a tiny dog that likes to squish under fences. There’s also an additional 10 acres that we use for longer adventure walks! We are available and on site 24/7 and have multiple security cameras and a locked gate. Cage free is important to us. I believe in letting dogs be dogs with boundaries so they remain safe to themselves, other dogs, and other members of the team. With multiple drinking spots around the property, walks are always an adventure, and taken several times a day.
